How to Use the Skills Gap Analyzer
Identify the skills holding your career back and get a prioritized list of what to learn next — ranked by real employer demand. After closing your skills gaps, use our Data Analyst Resume Builder to add those skills to a polished, ATS-ready resume.
1. Select Your Category
Choose the job category that best matches the roles you are targeting. Options include Data, AI and ML, Engineering, DevOps, Product and Security. The skill rankings update based on your selection.
2. Enter Your Skills
Type your current skills into the input field and press Enter or comma to add each one. Be specific — use the tool names and technologies you actually work with rather than broad terms. For example, enter "Power BI" rather than "data visualization."
3. Analyze Your Gaps
Click Analyze Gaps to see which high-demand skills are missing from your profile. Each result shows the skill name and the percentage of job listings that require it. The higher the percentage, the more urgently employers want that skill.
4. Prioritize What to Learn
Focus on the highest-demand gaps first, particularly ones that are adjacent to skills you already have. For example, if you know SQL and the top gap is dbt, that is a natural next step with strong hiring demand.
